After the very difficult decision of leaving the British Cycling Paralympic Team earlier this year, Jaco decided to take some time away from racing to concentrate on other events, such as the Race Across America and commentating on the Invictus Games for the BBC in Toronto.

This weekend, Jaco returned to the velodrome to race as an independent rider for the Para-T Racing team, racing against International riders, including some of his old GB team mates.

On Saturday afternoon, Jaco rode in the C4 4K Pursuit qualifying, where he qualified as the fastest rider and secured his place in the final that evening. Saturday evening, Jaco rode an unbelievable race, catching his opponent with seven laps to go, winning a Gold medal.

Sunday, Jaco rode in the C4/C5 scratch race. Sixty laps of intense riding came to a very close finish for three riders. Jaco took the bronze medal. A very successful weekend for his return to racing.

His next confirmed race will be the UCI Paracycling Nationals at the Manchester Veledrome in January. If you'd like to attend please visit British Cycling.
