Aconcagua Summit

On the 6th January, myself and the team met at Heathrow Terminal 3, this is the first time I have seen them all since our training camp in Chamonix back in September. I missed the last and final training camp in November as I was on another expedition, cycling the Carrera Austral.

Jaco van Gass won double gold in the Invictus Games. He competed in both the Time Trial and the Circuit Race.

Mr van Gass said: “I was confident before the races but you can never know for sure."

“When we did the GB trials I was among the fastest but I was concerned about the other countries because I had no idea how good they were.

“I didn’t sleep much the night before as I was very nervous but the races went well. It means a hell of a lot to get two golds. I’ve had a bit of a rocky year this year — I’ve suffered a lot of injuries and I really wanted a good result. Now I’m very happy.”

If you'd like to get in touch with Jaco to discuss his Invictus Games, please email info@jacovangass.com.

Jaco is now continuing with his training for Rio 2016 Paralympics.
